DESCRIPTION:Punch Out Hunger\nWednesday\, September 27th 5pm – 11pm Dine out at Coastal Kitchen and let’s punch out hunger for the children of Lowell Elementary! \nCoastal Kitchen hosts a community fundraiser for the children of Lowell Elementary\, a Title 1 school in Capitol Hill that is suffering from a severe amount of underfunding. \nLowell has close to 40% special needs\, medically fragile and visually impaired students. Over 30% of their population comes from non-english speaking families\, with more than 65% of students receiving free and reduced lunches. They are a perfect representation of Capitol Hill. \nLast year\, the homeless and transitional students rose sharply\, and this year we expect more than 30% of Lowell students will be homeless. We are focussed on providing the very basics to  Lowell Elementarys’ population – particularly food. \nCoastal Kitchen’s fundraiser on Wednesday September 27th\, 5pm – 11pm is specifically for the food pantry kitchen. \nIn 2017\, Lowell Elementary provided an average of 100 food pantry bags per week\, to food insecure students that don’t know when they are going to get their next meal when not at school. \nDine at Coastal Kitchen on Wednesday September 27th\, 5pm – 11pm\, enjoy a hibiscus punch from the Hawai’i Menu\, and a Loco Moco – and let’s punch out hunger! \nA portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated. \nThanks to Great Northern Cattle Co Ground Beef for thier generous donation\, Loco Moco sales will benefit Lowell Elementary Food Pantry! \n100% of sales of the following\, will be donated:\n– Gallo Sparkling Wine\n– Freixenet Red Wine\n– Baronie Fini Pinot Grigio\n– Castillo Rum Hibiscus Punches

SUMMARY:Play-field Cleanup Work Party
DESCRIPTION:We need to start the year with a clean and safe play area for our students. Please come help cleanup the playground\, field\, and generally spruce up the outdoor areas. This is mostly about cleaning up trash\, debris\, and removing unsafe items such as needles. Please contact us and let us know you are coming so we can arrange refreshments\, but we won’t turn you away if you just show up! \nWhile we work outside\, several area churches are going to be cleaning up\, painting\, and improving inside the building.
